歡迎來到倫敦  ロンドンへようこそ

However you say it, we want to welcome you to London, the greatest city in the world!

Here at Euracom, we have some fantastic vacation apartments for rent all over London – from the creative, cosmopolitan hotbeds of Aldgate and Barbican in east London to über-fashionable Kensington to the west of the city.

We have apartments available to suit all budgets across this wonderful city in the summer and if you book an apartment in London through Euracom for July and/or August, you don’t pay a booking fee!

While we usually market our vacation apartments in London to our overseas visitors, there’s an increasing trend for UK residents to remain here for their summer holidays and instead of saying ‘no, we’re not going away this year’, people are having ‘staycations’ and the facts (gleaned from a recent survey by hotel chain Travelodge) speak for themselves –

  • Almost 66% of families are planning a summer ‘staycation’
  • London, the Lake District and Edinburgh top the destination list, usurping Cornwall
  • 42% will staycation for one week, 15% for two and 33% will have up to three short breaks
  • UK resident tourist day-visit expenditure was up 17% to £57bn in 2012 while UK resident expenditure on visits abroad fell by 14% to £31.7bn (Office of National Statistics)

The evidence is there for all to see. More and more people are choosing to take vacations – staycations – in the UK rather than go abroad for their summer holidays.

Why? There are two fundamental reasons. The first is obvious – we are coming out of a severe financial crisis and there is simply less disposable income available than there previously has been. Second (and we might be a little biased here), London is an incredibly rich and diverse city with so much to do for people of all ages and interests.

Think about this question – as a UK resident (from London or elsewhere), when was the last time you did anything ‘touristy’? When was the last time you saw The Monument, Tower Bridge, Nelson’s Column or took a trip down the Thames? Most people will say ‘as a kid’.

London’s world-class museums, theatres, galleries, shopping and sports facilities are the envy of the world, as is the sheer diversity of our restaurants, cafés and bars.

That notwithstanding, we are blessed with 1,000 years of history, from the 11th century Tower of London, the Roman walls around the City, Temple Church, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace all the way up to the city’s newest attractions – the London Eye, the Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge (not forgetting M&Ms World in Leicester Square!)

One of the key stats that came out of the ONS report was that the accommodation sector experienced a 16% rise in output between 2008 – 2009 (the point in time when the recession hit as hard as it was going to), from £8bn to £9bn, further fuelling the opinion that the phenomenon of the ‘staycation’ is the holiday of choice for UK residents.

We have a great selection of cost-effective vacation apartments in London for you to choose from so please call us on 020 8420 7666 or email info@euracom.co.uk and we’ll talk you through everything you need to know.

In the meantime, have a good April and we’ll see you again in May!
